Making a Speech during Plenary Sessions

Sufficient time will be allocated for delegates to deliver Oral Statements during specific Plenary sessions. Preference will be given to individuals who are speaking on behalf of groups, organizations, coalitions or unions.

Oral statements should not exceed three minutes (approximately two pages double-spaced using font size 12). Instructions will be communicated, via e-mail, to those selected to give oral statements.

Intervening from the floor during a panel discussion

Conference delegates will be able to make oral interventions during the interactive panel sessions. Interventions must be focused on the theme of the panel and not on any other issues.

Interventions at interactive expert panels are NOT to be in the form of prepared statements. These interventions must be in the form of comments or questions addressed to the panel experts. Interventions should not exceed two minutes.

Submission of written statements

Individuals or organizations are encouraged to submit written statements on a thematic issue being considered by a Working Group.

Submission of written statements will close on March 1, 2020.

Instructions

Individuals or Organizations may submit one statement per Working Group and may sign on to multiple joint statements. Joint statements are strongly encouraged.

  • Statements by individuals and organizations may not exceed 2,000 words including the cover page
  • Submit written statements in English
